Obituary of Greg Payne

GREGORY P. “GREG” PAYNE Gregory P. “Greg” Payne, 60, Sturgeon, MO passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 25, 1961, in Festus, MO the son of Enoch Gene Payne and the late Doris (Pennock) Payne. On October 4, 1989, he was united in marriage to D’Ann (Burnett) Payne. In addition to his wife D’Ann of 32 years, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three sons Michael Payne of Syracuse, MO, Gregory Payne of Hallsville, MO and Zachary Payne and his wife Rayni of Sturgeon, MO; his father Gene Payne of Tipton, MO; two brothers Rick Payne and his wife Pam of Tipton, MO and Steve Payne and his wife Rhoda of Tipton, MO; two sisters Darla Petree of Tipton, MO and Genny Clutter and her husband Bobby of Tipton, MO; six grandchildren Dallas, Briar, Rhett, Dawson, Maddy and Wesson; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. Greg first worked for Textron in Columbia, MO and later at Schneider Electric in Columbia, MO for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sprint car racing, and tinkering in his shop. Greg loved the Kansas City Chiefs; however, his true love was spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandsons. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, February 21, 2022, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Hallsville, MO. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO.
