Obituary of Arleen Long
ARLEEN C. LONG
Arleen C. Long, 74, Sturgeon MO passed away Sunday January 29, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born November 4, 1948, the daughter of the late Harvey and Ethel (Stark) Lute. On October 31, 1975, she was united in marriage to Herbert L. Long who preceded her in death on January 16, 2018.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Herbert Long and his wife Tabitha of Sturgeon, MO; three brothers Norman Lute of Madison, MO, Irvin Lute of Higbee, MO and Nathan Lute of Madison, MO; five sisters Dorothy Gibson of Hayes, KS, Janis Bentch of Elsberry, MO, Ardeth Baker of Madison, MO, Elaine Smith of Higbee, MO and Sharon Strohm of Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren Kayla, Hailey, Hanna, Tristin, Cody and Daniel; three great grandchildren Leilani, Leeland and Maeve; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, two sons Corey Long and Dennis Wolverton, three brothers Melvin Lute, David Lute and Rodney Lute preceded her in death.
Arleen first worked for A.B. Chance Co. in Centralia, MO and later was a bus driver for OATS and the Columbia Public School District for many years. She attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Centralia, MO and enjoyed cooking, John Wayne movies, Hallmark movies and most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Monday, February 6, 2023, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO.
