Obituary of Alvin Jones

ALVIN E. JONES Alvin E. Jones, 93, Hallsville, MO passed away Monday, March 6, 2023, at the Community Living Center at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born February 21, 1930 in Hillsboro, IL the son of the late Walter and Effie (Boyd) Jones. On September 4, 1992, he was united in marriage to Dorothy (Hodges) Jones who preceded him in death on May 29, 2016. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two daughters Elaine Robinson and her husband Mike of Chatham, IL and Jennifer Basham of Jacksonville, IL; one sister Patsy Moore of Panama, IL; two grandchildren Melanie and Jason; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife Dorothy, three brothers Clifford Jones, Cyril Jones, and Bill Jones and two sisters Irene Klepper and Barb Sailer preceded him in death. Alvin served his country in the United States Army. He first worked as a farmer and later worked as a truck driver for many years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and enjoyed bowling, golf, dancing, and baseball. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO.
