Obituary of Darryl Veazey

DARRYL WAYNE VEAZEY Darryl Wayne Veazey, 67, Centralia, MO passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023, at his home. He was born April 29, 1955, in Midland, TX. On March 27, 1976, he was united in marriage to Karen (Sullivan) Veazey. In addition to his wife Karen of 47 years, he will be sadly missed by his children, Michael (Kristin) Veazey, Rebecca (Bryan) Bear and Johnny (Harley) Veazey; his grandchildren Terra Veazey, Buel Veazey, Evelyn Bear, Elena Veazey and Baelor Veazey; his siblings Steve (Liza) Sanders, Sadie (Larry Dean) Adams, Sheila (Jay) Eastlick and Shari (Leroy) Childs; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his mother Mabel (Adkins) Sanders, his stepfather Arthur “Sonny” Sanders, two brothers Billy “Dink” Veazey and Scott Sanders and one sister Pam Garrett preceded him in death. Darryl first worked for AB Chance Co and later in construction for several businesses. Darryl never met a stranger and could talk for hours to anyone. Simple things in life brought him the most joy: enjoying a show from his friend’s band or working on various projects at the house. Darryl was happiest when spending time with (or spoiling) his grandchildren. His carefree style and love for his family will be fondly remembered. His battle with cancer and other serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Darryl smiled, laughed, and stayed strong until the end. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO. Interment will be in the Centralia City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Tuesday April 11, 2023, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO.
