Obituary of Maryanne Whiteford
MARYANNE WHITEFORD
Maryanne Whiteford, 77, Rocheport, MO, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Valleyview Health & Rehabilitation in Moberly, MO. She was born September 1, 1946, in Traverse City, MI the daughter of John and Myrtle (McKenzie) Tompkins.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons John Whiteford and his wife Debbie of Sturgeon, MO and David Whiteford and his wife Tonya of Rocheport, MO; a stepson Derrick Carroll and his wife Tandy of Boonville, MO; fourteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, two brothers Robert Michael Tompkins and John Tompkins, and a granddaughter Harleigh preceded her in death.
Maryanne first worked as a nurse for the University of Missouri Hospital & Clinics and later she worked for Wal-Mart. She was a member of Columbia Second Chance, and the Lamine River Boating Club. She enjoyed being on the river, cooking, baking, especially her cinnamon rolls and bread, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her dogs.
A celebration of life will be 7:00 pm Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until service time Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO.
