Obituary of Ralph Mika

RALPH MIKA Ralph Mika, 83, Mexico, MO passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2023, at The Villa at Blue Ridge in Columbia, MO. He was born December 12, 1939, in Ansley, NE the son of the late Lumir and Phyllis (Higgins) Mika. On June 1, 1984, he was united in marriage to Judy (Hopkins) Mika. In addition to his wife Judy of 39 years, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son Dan Mika and his wife Vickie of Mexico, MO; one daughter Dawn Bunch and her husband Steve of Knoxville, IA; two step sons Steve Luehring and his wife Cheryl of Geneseo, IL and Scott Luehring and his wife Rae of Chariton, IA; one step daughter Suzanne Seddon and her husband Gary of Chariton, IA; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, one sister preceded him in death. Ralph worked as a Master’s Degree Social Worker at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Knoxville, IA for many years. In 1995, he moved back to the Centralia area to enjoy his retirement. He was a member of M.S.W.A. and enjoyed trapshooting, farming, woodworking, traveling, genealogy and going to auctions. He loved spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren. Private family graveside services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the Centralia City Cemetery.
