Obituary of Carole McVay

CAROLE MAE MCVAY Carole M. McVay, 75, Centralia, MO passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the University of Missouri Hospital & Clinics in Columbia, MO. She was born July 8, 1948, the daughter of the late James and Lucille Wray. On February 25, 1969, she was united in marriage to Donald McVay. In addition to her husband Don of 54 years, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son Scott McVay and his wife Ginger of Centralia, MO; two daughters Tracy Banning and her husband Trevor of Ashland, MO and Denise Berry and her husband Russell of Columbia, MO; one brother Claire Wray and his wife Donna of Annabelle, MO; three sisters Roseann Wilhelm of Macon, MO, Marlene Fifer and her husband Harvey of Shelbina, MO and Elaine Barton and her husband Trenneth of Clarence, MO; eight grandchildren Gage, Zack, Brittany, Brooke, Levi, Alyssa, Austin and Maci; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, two brothers preceded her in death. Carole worked as a bank teller for the Macon Atlanta State Bank for many years. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church and enjoyed reading, watching hummingbirds, and traveling. Carole loved spending time with her friends and family, especially all of her grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Monday, October 30, 2023, at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Centralia, MO. Interment will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time on Monday, October 30, 2023 at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Centralia, MO.
