Obituary of Richard Trew

RICHARD F. TREW Richard F. Trew, 92, Hallsville, MO passed away Friday, December 22, 2023, at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born March 29, 1931, in Hasting, MI the son of the late Thomas and Cora Alice (Webster) Trew. On February 25, 1977, he was united in marriage to Eunice Marie (Cobb) Trew. In addition to his wife Marie of 46 years, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by five sons Dennis Trew, David Trew and his wife Brenda of Sunfield, MI, Gary Trew of Hollister, MO, Roger Pryor and his wife Pam of Mead, OK and Richard Pryor and his wife Lisa of Hallsville, MO; one daughter Lorene Rousch of Hollister, MO; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, one son Arthur J. Trew, two sisters, three brothers and one grandson Joshua Trew preceded him in death. Richard first served his country in the United States Navy from 1949 to 1950. Later he served in the United States Army during the Korean War where he received a Purple Heart. He worked as a welder and as a maintenance man for Bloomingdale’s for many years. Because of his many talents, he had many different jobs. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and enjoyed woodworking, refurnishing furniture and loved working with his hands. Richard loved his family, his country and most of all his Lord. He was a man of great faith. Two of his last words spoken were, "It's beautiful." Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO.
