Obituary of Caroline Abshier

COL. CAROLINE LEE ABSHIER Col. Caroline Lee Abshier, 59, Sturgeon, MO passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 21, 1961 in Wilmington, OH the daughter of the late George Balzhiser and Mary (Stockton) Balzshiser. She will be lovingly remembered by three sons Seth Abshier of Columbia, MO, Ryan Abshier and his wife Laura of St. Peters, MO and Joel Abshier of Sturgeon, MO; one daughter Cassie Contreras and her husband Hector of Columbia, MO; her mother Mary Donham; one brother Timothy Abshier; two sisters Tami Little and her husband Jeff and Susan Balzhiser; three grandchildren Josiah, William, and Hadley; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. Caroline served her country in the United States Army for 32 years where she obtained the rank of Colonel. Later she worked as an internal auditor for Veterans United. She attended Christian Chapel and enjoyed baking, bicycling, hiking, baseball, and spending time with all of her friends and family. A celebration of life will be 10:00 am Thursday, January 7, 2021 at The Crossing Church (3615 Southland Dr.) in Columbia, MO.
