Obituary of Dean Phillips

GREGORY DEAN PHILLIPS Dean Phillips, 64, Centralia, MO passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 surrounded by his family at his home. He was born March 11, 1957 in Mexico, MO the son of Jimmie and Ruby (Carlyle) Phillips. He was united in marriage to Cirila Louise Ybarra Phillips who preceded him in death on January 24, 2015. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three daughters Christy Smedley and her husband Jeff of Hallsville, MO, Jessi Conyers and her husband Justin of Hallsville, MO and Missy Hatfield and her husband Jared of Hallsville, MO; three step daughters Monica, Vanessa and Tina; two brothers Kenneth Phillips and his wife Myra of Moberly, MO and Kevin Phillips and his wife Regina of Thompson, MO; six grandchildren Amelia, Kenley, Kason, Kylie, Olivia and Laurel; several step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife, two brothers Dennis Ray Phillips and Brian Lynn Phillips and two nieces Kelea Marie Phillips and Brandy Kay Phillips preceded him in death. Dean worked at Watkins Roofing for 17 years when he retired. Later he would work odd jobs and was the town handyman. Dean always said he attended Possum Walk College and loved to joke with his many friends. He enjoyed playing pool, especially in pool leagues at I.C. Billiards, riding his motorcycles and drinking Stag. Dean had a heart of gold and loved spending time with his family and friends. Memorial services will be 4:00 pm Friday, May 7. 2021 at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO. Inurnment will be in the Salt River Christian Church Cemetery near Centralia, MO. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until service time on Friday, May 7, 2021 at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO.
